Continuing on our 2009 year in review, being one of the most anticipated releases of the year would have to go to the Air yeezy. Designed by self-proclaimed rapper Kanye West, Nike took all his inputs and specifications to put out this hybrid of styles. With specifications such as extra thick in-soles to glow in the dark outsoles. This was definitely a huge drop in 2009.
With such an exclusive release, we were one of the lucky stores to carry them, and I guess people found out the news. Check out some of the line-ups we experienced.
In February, our good friend Jeff Hamada was added to list of artists to partake in Converse’s 1HUND(RED) artist series. Designing a Chuck Taylor inspired by the global fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa.
Throwing a release party for the shoe at our West 4th store, it was a huge success. Over 400 people came out to celebrate the release of the shoe and to support the 1HUND(RED) project. With all the profits going towards the global fund, we managed to raise nearly $2000!!
To go along with the limited Converse shoe, we had some Jeff Hamada x Livestock shirts available at the release.

For the past few years, Adidas has worked on group projects based on various concepts. This winters has been based on “your city”. They have chosen the consortium dealer in each city that has a shoe barring it’s name, in our case they have elected livestock to represent Toronto. To Help inspire us,we took a walk around the city and shot some photos we really felt are Toronto. Here’s a few of the things we thing really represent this fine city.
With that being said, we would like to thank the city of Toronto for welcoming us, as well as Adidas for including us in this project and letting us represent Toronto. Here’s the final shoe that we came up with.

In these next few weeks, you can’t help but to reflect on the year that has passed. Over the next few days, we are going to try and do a bit of a recap on all the things that went down in 2009. As I sit here thinking about 2009, I cant help feeling good about the possibilities of 2010 for Livestock and all the brands and people we include in our family. This is the first post of many in our countdown into the new year, Enjoy!
