Established in 2021, London-based Purple Mountain Observatory operates where urban landscape meets alpine performance. Two worlds that were never meant to coexist, brought together through technical outerwear that refuses to compromise. The mandate is simple: build garments that stand up to the elements, then push design somewhere it hasn’t been before. Proven technology meets experimental thinking, with little interest in following the rules of conventional outerwear.
Founded by outdoor enthusiasts Matt Braun and Georgia Smith, PMO set out to make pieces that pair technical materials with modern design. They approach every garment with the same principle: nothing leaves the drawing board without earning its place. Materials are selected with intent, construction is put to the test, and every piece is pushed through rigorous real-world conditions alongside the brand’s community.
