Late Winter Escape
Rest and relaxation are big factors in a healthy lifestyle. Fortunately, all it takes to find some peace and quiet is a quick day-trip escape. Venture out solo or take a pal along with you, but most importantly, make sure you’re properly equipped to step outside. Grab supplies, hop in your whip and just go for it.
Rustling up a bonfire and going fishing is easy enough. So, what will you need? First off, grab your trusty fishing pole, prep your lures and bait in the Carhartt WIP Script Tool Box — which works great for a makeshift tackle box — take your pooch, pick out some reliable gear and head out.
For a trip like this, staying warm and dry is probably best. We’re talking functional, utilitarian, warm, waterproof — pretty much anything comfortable, practical and essential. Layering is key, too. Better to be overprepared than underprepared. The Nike ACG NRG Misery Ridge GORE-TEX Jacket comes finished with a waterproof membrane, designed to pair nicely with an assortment of base layers — like any of Carhartt WIP’s offerings — plus it’s big enough to fit overtop of Maharishi’s Upcycled Grizzly Jacket.
The weather out there can be pretty temperamental, so you should be ready for unpredictable conditions at a moment’s notice. Any outerwear combination will do, really. As long as you’re well-dressed and having fun. Once you’re situated at your favourite spot, find some wood, chop it up.
Stay hydrated using a Howler or Camp Cup from our Livestock x Miir collection, start a fire and go fish for some dinner. Whether you actually catch something is a toss up, so maybe bring a pack of hot dogs just in case.
