With an earnest desire to create better hiking boots, Clark Matis, Randy Merrell and John Schweizer launched Merrell Footwear in 1981 to achieve their goal. Originally, the trio set out to design high-performance footwear that could handle any terrain, and as a result they ended up making cost-effective boots that didn’t compromise on quality. Since then, Merrell has grown on to become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of performance footwear; operating with the intention to inspire people to step outside with an unrivalled focus on comfort, design, durability and versatility.
