Junya Watanabe MAN
Born in 1961, Junya Watanabe is a Japanese fashion designer who is best known for his ability to innovate. His signature motif has been to subtly redefine traditional concepts while creating multifaceted pieces in their wake. In 1984, he graduated from Tokyo’s BUNKA Fashion College and eventually started working at COMME des GARÇONS as an upstart patternmaker. Since then, Watanabe has flourished under the guidance of CDG’s Rei Kawakubo, having led the label’s HOMME line while breaking out with his own self-titled brand: Junya Watanabe MAN.
